1a Perren Street is a Victorian warehouse converted into an artists' studio and home.
We were asked by sculptors Andrew Sabin and Laura Ford, to extend the studio and living accommodation, creating two new flats to finance the development.
The design incorporates a studio and workshop at ground floor and a large flat around a courtyard on the first floor. Light flows in from all angles. The steel frame, window frames, cladding, stairs and kitchen counter were made by Andrew in the workshop and craned into place.
The work was undertaken in two phases and we are now looking at a further phase to extend the building.
